Client: Right Brain Brewery
Location: Traverse City, MI, USA
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Laminated Paper Label, Cardboard
Printing Process: Digital Printing

Designed a 12oz label and a 4-pack carrier for 12oz bottles.

The beer itself has an interesting story. It's conception was due to a mechanical failure in one of Right Brain Brewery's kettles that resulted in an IPA of exceptional character. I had designed the original Dead Kettle bottle label, aluminum can and carrier box. This design was for the high-gravity (higher ABV, more of the key ingredients) version of that beer. It was thus an extension and an amplification of that original design.

Art director & Graphic designer: Alexandre Arzuman
Product designer: Andy Migevant
Graphic designer: Marion Réau
Film director: Clément Arzuman
Project Type: Concept
Location: Paris, France
Packaging Contents: Bottle of Single highland malt
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle, 3d printing, paper,
Printing Process: Letterpress (copper printing + black + debossing)

For the 60th anniversary of La Maison du Whisky (Expert in whisky since 1956), we imagined the design of a new concept bottle of Edradour single highland malt.

The smallest distillery of Scotland has already made some collaborations with LMDW. The product designer Andy Migevant and I Alexandre Arzuman focused on a brand new concept that could improved the elegance and strength of the whisky bottle by making it not only as a bottle, but also as a trophy, as a product of exception.

Therefor we have designed a label in 2 parts : the biggest part always stays the same, but the smallest part (the circle) can be changed according the event or the whisky contained in the bottle.

3 circles have been created for the occasion :
- 60th anniversary bottling
- 12 years old
- 18 years old

The bottle, glasses and labels have been completely created. No 3D rendering have been used for those pictures below. The labels are made with black pantone, copper hot stamping and invisible debossing. Some parts of the bottle are painted with copper painting.

Creative Agency: tegusu Inc.
Planner, CD, AD : Masaomi Fujita
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client : Iinumahonke Inc.
Producer : Anchorman Inc.
Packaging Content: Sake
Location: Yokohama, Japan

Sake yeast “Kyokai No. 77,” which produces multitudes of malic acid, is used in Kinoene Apple. Malic acid is called "apple acid" in Japanese. Malic acid is contained in white wine too. When drinking Kinoene Apple, you can enjoy an exquisite balance of sweetness and sourness, as well as its light aftertaste. With the goal of creating the product image of being “authentic junmai ginjo sake” that you can drink casually, expanding demographic of drinkers and targeting specifically young females, we redesigned the concept and brand image, while maintaining its conventional position as the type of sake to be drunk cold in summer.

We designed apple-shaped bottle neckers that increase product recognition. The product characteristics are printed on the reverse side. We used large-size Kanji letters for the brand name so that the product can maintain a Japanese sake-like appearance. Yet, the shapes of the letters are designed to be sharp and modern, and that differentiates this sake from conventional Japanese sake. Also we made the label narrow with a soft, round edge, that creates a light impression.

Designer: Gražina Bočkutė

School: Vilnius Academy of Arts

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania
Packaging Contents: Drawing tools
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Cardboard
Printing Process: Offset printing

CREATURE - cute interactive package design for drawing tools.

The main goal was to make it simple, ecological and yet super creative and fun. Suitable not only for kids, but for adults too. The package itself is made from cardboard material only. It uses no glue, no other materials. This way it is easy to make, easy to recycle and dispose. Serigraphy is used to visual the graphics. The game is to make an outfit for the creature by using your new markers.

CREATURE package design is made from 0,5mm cardboard. One side white, the other side brown. The structure of the package is made entirely from cardboard, it does not require any glue to fold it. The package itself is made from four parts: the lid, the outside part, the grid for the pencils and the shell. The box can also be used as a pencil holder as it has a really tough structure. So not only can you play with the package, but use it as a permanent pencil box.

CREATURE is an interactive package. The game of the package is simply to dress up the creature. This is done in a few steps. First, you open the lid. You see the paper in front of the package which can easily be taken out. As you’re really excited about your new purchase of drawing tools, basically, you want to start using them. You take out the pencil and draw anything you want. Then you put the paper back again and the Creature has a new outfit. Cardboard box also lets you draw on the box. Sky is the limit for your imagination. Maybe draw a hat for the creature, or an afro haircut? You are the designer and the artist. Moreover, you can even write notes on the paper and the Creature will remind you everytime you look at the box as it is tough enough to be a long-lasting pencil box.

Agency: Ohmybrand
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Two birches
Location: Russia

TASK
To develop an integral retail brand for the farmers’ grocery stores “Two birches”.

SOLUTION
All the products from different farmers come into the store in small consignments. To simplify the workflow, we have developed two styles of packaging. The first one are clear and visible labels for branding the products on the farms, and the second option is a label that can be printed directly in the store.

The principles of external and internal design of the stores emphasize that the products have farm origins. The shop assistants, girls in traditional cotton aprons, greet the customers when they enter the shop.

In a nutshell
Creating a brand for the discounters that disrupts the toilet roll category, using uplifting humour, rather than rock-bottom pricing.

The challenge
The territory of the discounters is awash with ‘me too’ designs and ‘cheap as chips’ brands, but research showed customers weren’t prepared to sacrifice comfort or their loyal brands, even if they were spending less pennies when they go to the loo.

Our insight
Using uplifting humour and not taking life to seriously, to catch the consumer’s eye on-shelf. Get them to rethink about the benefits of a mundane household product, they popped in the trolley without a seconds thought! Proving that cheaper can most definitely be more cheerful!

Outstanding results
One of the best designs in the category that has raised a smile as well as listings, with a discount range that really does stand out from other suppliers with its creative and memorable approach.

Lava Cap Winery

Creative Agency: Auston Design Group
Project Type: Produced, Commercial Work
Client: Lava Cap Winery
Location: Emeryville, US
Packaging Contents: Wine
Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle

For years, visitors to Lava Cap Winery would ask founders Charlie and Noreen Jones, “Where’s the bird?” The bird in question was a stellar jay featured on Lava Cap’s first label. Not only was it emblematic of Lava Cap’s Sierra Foothills locale, it had a bit of a cult following among the winery’s visitors. A prior label change had eliminated the bird, as well as the casual Sierra Foothill vibe.

ADG was brought in to create a package and brand identity that reconnected Lava Cap with its past, gave the brand an authentic Sierra Foothills feel and perhaps, most importantly, brought back the stellar jay as the icon for the brand and winery.

The stellar jay was the easy part, but communicating Lava Cap’s unique location through their brand identity was a bit trickier. The goal was to develop a slightly funky, retro look, without coming off as trendy. The typography and custom monogram were created to mimic the look of graphics from the late 1800s, which along with the 19th-century scientific illustration of the jay, delivers the visual cues that let people know that Lava Cap brings a unique approach. Lava Cap’s new package evokes an image that’s far different than the more buttoned-up Napa look—it’s a little rougher around the edges with an approachable, slightly down-home feel.

Printed at CCL Label in Sonoma, the label was printed on Bright White Felt, features 4-color process, 4 spot colors, emboss and deboss, plus a custom diecut to simulate the deckle edge of a handmade paper.

Client: Mogutni Karpaty
Location: Ukraine
Packaging Contents: Vodka
Packaging Materials: Glass

Not long ago we have finished work on the interesting project – the range of the decorated bottles TN «Mogutni Karpaty» (The mighty Carpathians). The new product differs by pithiness and irreproachable style. However, behind seeming simplicity of decor, an attentive viewer (or, rather, buyer) discovers not a few references to Ukranian history and symbolism.

For example, on each bottle you can see the octagonal star (or Ruzha (Rose) in Zakarpattia), printed by the silk-screen printing with ultraviolet curable paints. This ancient symbol is the symbol of the sun and life. It symbolizes the connection of male and female principles. That’s why you can often meet with Ruzha on wedding rushnyk.

Three of the four bottles are painted with the use of electrostatic spraying in colors, whose importance is especially big in Ukrainian symbolism.

Location: Kraków, Poland
Packaging Contents: Beer
Packaging Materials: Aluminium can

WILK Studio has developed the idea and graphics of the limited edition of packaging for the Królewskie brand. The new version of the most popular beer in Warsaw, PL, has just entered the market. The slogan „This is how Warsaw tastes' has never been more authentic.

Królewskie is a beer with powerful local character, strongly associated with the place of origin and its inhabitants. The owner of the brand, Grupa Żywiec, introduced nineteen cans. The graphic design of eighteen of them represents the most important symbols of each of the capital's districts. In addition, nineteenth can is dedicated to Warsaw itself.

„Working with Królewskie as a Warsaw brand, we came up with an idea of using the city's districts on products. By implementing the concept, we faced the demanding task of illustrating and preparing for printing over a dozen layouts using Dynamark® technology - assesses Marek Repetowski, Art Director in WILK Studio - Remembering Warsaw strong roots of the brand, we have chosen the most characteristic venues in every district, creating a kind of city map included in the collection of cans.'

CHALLENGE:
Born in Moscow Red Button is an adventurous beer made for active people who don’t ideate their life without a continuous movement and adventures. They change everything around themselves. They push red button and change the world. We had to develop a packaging design that reflect an idea of pushing a red button, starting an adventure and new consumer experience with a packaging.

RESULT:
We created a packaging design with a red button “activated” by freezing - a simplicity in packaging design becomes a long story. Simplicity with visual interaction using technology of a thermochromatic printing.

Place the bottle in a cool place. Cool it up to the temperature of 8OC. Three different illustrations will appear on the bottle’s surface showing what can occur if the red button is activated. Perhaps you will become a dancer and red button gives you an opportunity to release your rhythm?! Or you become an astronaut conquering the boundless space?! May be bottle will teach you a brewing process and you become a great brewer?! You’ll never know.

Red Button. The beer all other beers ask to tell a story.
